Isaac Fernández Blanco Museum of Spanish-American Art

The Museo de Arte Hispanoamericano Isaac Fernández Blanco preserves a wide-ranging heritage dedicated to colonial and republican art, along with pre-Hispanic American cultural pieces and international decorative and applied arts from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Located at Suipacha 1422, it holds the most complete collection of colonial paintings in Buenos Aires and the largest viceregal silver collection in any public institution in the Southern Cone, spanning 17th- to 19th-century works from South American silver-producing centers and colonial-era Europe. Its holdings include over 250 pieces of colonial religious imagery carved in wood, alabaster, and ivory from the Americas, Spain, and the Philippines, alongside Baroque furniture, textiles, ceramics, numismatics, engravings, jewelry, and documentary archives.

More than half of its collection dates to the 19th century, featuring over 250 works of 19th-century Argentine painting. The property is also known for its historic gardens, its chamber music concerts, and its second location at the restored Casa Fernández Blanco, dedicated to international applied and fine arts.
